I installed Debian/testing using the net install CD. I opened up the box, booted up the computer, saw Windows XP asking me for information, and immediately put in the Debian install disc.
I followed the recommendations of most of the prompts,
I used tasksel to install the desktop and database suites. I'll be removing postgres (which apparently gets installed).
